Question is are the dozer blades in the 70s interchangeable between the early 70s tractors, the C series, the 300, 400, 500, series and the Classic series? There must be 50 different dozer model numbers, but, I have never had any issue on the ones I have gotten. The standard dozer A frame works on all? The short wheel base dozer from the 60’s is likely not going to work on the later long frame. But, Wheel Horse made the long frame so it was backwards compatible to the short frame tractors. As far as I know, a 1970 42” dozer will work on a 1997 300 series, but its only a 42”, instead of 48”, and vise versa. Isn’t this correct? Ed Kennell 38,049 #2 Posted December 15, 2022 I think you'll find the main differences are the location of the lift point on the plow frame and the configuration of the blade angle lever. In general, any short frame plow will work on most short frame tractors and any long frame plow will work on a medium or long frame tractor. Exceptions are the 520s with forward swept axle that need a frame extension kit to move the blade forward enough to clear the tires when the blade is angled. 2 3 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
peter lena 8,589 #3 Posted December 15, 2022 @Searcher60 take advantage of any plow set up you have and and elevate it off the floor , so you can roller stool around it , for some functional detailing . 2 milk crates or similar , elevate just under steering quadrant area , and under rear axel connection rod. found this set up allows , lubrication , lever rod detailing , tightening ,aerosol red grease , in quadrant slide spring , pin function. , pop out top / bottom covers . longer bolts on lever swing connections , elastic lock nuts , to dial in and hold perfect , swing arc point , lubricate as you test build . since doing this , my plows operate / function without effort , also use penetrating oil on the front of plow blade , stop rust , snow slides off , like butter , 1/8" hair pin clips or rear axel levers , push in to last big hole , never loose them. have also used heim joints on the lower lever rod horizontal blade swing , very solid / smooth . when you pre build on crates , thats exactly what you will have on the tractor . thats why I do it , go greasy , pete 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
