Sailman 1,291 #1 Posted December 12, 2022 Looking for a cover / shroud for the blower / starter on a k-161 that came on the wheel horse 701. Is this even available or considered unobtainium??
ri702bill 8,347 #2 Posted December 12, 2022 You should place an ad in the Classified Wanted section here. That is a one year, one model guard - as are the double pulleys. There are no reproduction ones available, I believe. Be prepared to spend "Cubic" dollars if you can locate one... Bill 2

Get a regular belt guard off a 7-8hp engine, remove the mount tabs, make it wider with a metal strip and re-attach the mount tabs

Sailman 1,291 #7 Posted December 14, 2022 I have some good news. I was asking about the shroud because there was a 701 for sale near me and the picture the PO had posted showed the left side of the k161 without a cover. I was trying to determine if I could get one, cost, and use that as a bargaining chip (due to the unobtainium prices!) if it was missing. Talked to the PO and he said he had both belt covers! The odd one over the double pulley and the long one over the right side drive belt. Brought it home yesterday. So now I am the happy owner of an original 701!
