Was helping an acquaintance install some security cameras and found this guy sitting outside by his driveway.  He told me he pulled it out of a barn a few weeks ago.  I told him I liked it (and my kids would love it) and he said I could have it.  “One less thing in my yard”.  Definitely a shame to leave it sitting out in the rain so I loaded it in the back of my car and got it into my garage.  Seems complete, engine turns freely and the lower deck isn’t even rotted.  
 

Not sure why someone wrote 68 on top, Model # says L-157 which should be a ‘67 if I understand correctly.  Looking forward to getting her running and cleaned up.

  Nice ride!  They tend to multiply, and the next steering wheel might not come off as easy   Good work cramming it in there!  I like to utilize all my empty space too.

Great find and congratulations on the loading method, not too many  will fit in a hatchback like that.       Looks very complete and should clean up nicely. The chalk number on the hood looks like an auction lot number, they number items so there is no confusion about what item is being sold.

This manual should be helpful.

Thanks everyone!  When I saw it initially I thought it was marketed as a kids tractor or something.  Never seen one so small.  The user manual says to not let children operate it so I’m not sure what the target market was.  In any event I liked that, while it seems the correct size for an 8-10 y/o, it is definitely a real tractor, not a toy.  Thanks for the manual.  Looks like there is an old patch job on the corner of the fuel tank.  Will probably have to weld that, get some air in the tires, fuel lines and carb cleaned out and see where I’m at.

 

 My hatch was about 6” from closing.  Had to bungee it.  It’s somewhat amazing what you can fit in the back of a Tesla model S.

welcome and nice round hood you have and yes it looks like a tractor for a kid i am a kid and i have a rj and i know it is not like those powerwheels this is a real lawn tractor that was created for garden use because they are small and are good for all types of small chores.

I think they were going for the small yard customers and maybe women? Not really sure, but they have a sturdy trans and made at least snow blades and no doubt other stuff.

We backed it up to the back of the car, lifted the rear wheels up and pushed them in. Then we each lifted a front wheel and rolled the rest in.

 

Getting it out was roughly the same, though I had to recruit help. My wife gave me the “what the hell is in the back of your car now” look, so I knew she wasn’t helping.  My FIL was kind enough to stop by.
