swept front axle question

Recommended Posts

An odd question but if one wanted to increase the height of their tractor by increasing the diameter of the tires.

Could you go to from a 16" tire to an 18" tire with the swept forward axle?

Yes you can, but may not work with a mower deck when turning. If you don't use it to mow, you are good to go. You can raise the fenders a bit for bigger rear tires if needed.

:text-yeahthat:

The swept axle was to fit a 60" deck. Probably fine with smaller decks

Not an odd question.  I have a swept axle on my C165 that runs 18-8.50R8s and I do not experience any issues with my 48" deck hitting the wheels and my deck has the large anti-scalp wheels on it from a 270-series deck.  It is a close fit, but no issues so a regular 48" deck should operate just fine with the larger tires.
