toma 12 #1 Posted December 6, 2022 Hi all I have a New Holland GT22A/Toro 522xi with a 60" mower deck. Can anyone tell me if the rear gauge wheels are supposed to support the weight of the deck and touch the ground? I can't seem to get it adjusted any other way? Pullstart 62,812 #3 Posted December 6, 2022 Those decks hang by TWO adjuster eye bolts. I got a good deal on my 520Xi because one of them was broken and he was tired of paying someone to “fix” his crooked deck with no outcome. Welds all over the deck though! toma 12 #4 Posted December 6, 2022 Hi..Yes..I know the deck hangs and is lifted by the two eye bolts but when the deck is in the lowered mowing position are the rear gauge wheels supposed to contact and ride on the ground? It doesn't say anything about it in the manual. I'm guessing they have to ride on the ground or the height of cut lever would be of no use? These wheels leave marks on soft ground when mowing. Ed Kennell 38,049 #5 Posted December 6, 2022 I don't have one of these decks, but yes the rear height adjuster wheels are the same as yours on all of my decks and they do contact the ground. I am not a mower deck guru, just thinking on screen. Anti-scalp rollers' (even those with bushings) aren't intended for continuous weight born rolling. On a correctly-aligned deck, they only hit the ground on bumps and dips. A 60" deck is a heavy item so be sure to use gage wheels with adequate load capacity. I've seen a lot of smaller decks with broken plastic hub wheels from big box stores that were ruined from lateral force on the gage wheel when the tractor is turning. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
