Fuel pump problem

Have a vacuum fuel pump that I can't get it to stop leaking fuel I tried a new gasket sand the surface down and tried sealant on it too still leaks gas thank about a plastic fuel pump if anybody knows what will work for a replacement help please

@Chrishar  , what model / make tractor  do you have ?   https://www.walmart.com/ip/Carbole-12V-Universal-Micro-Electric-Gasoline-Fuel-Pump-28-GPH-2-3-5-PSI/207102002?    have one of these on my horse now for years , low pressure , quiet very reliable ,   pumps  are also available , on this site , related stores , have to know what you have , pete

Like @peter lena said, we need your machine and engine model, but it may be a good opportunity to go electric, as Pete has so excellently stated. :greetings-waveyellow:

Vacuum pump I'm thinking older 8 horse?

Mid 60s or older?

 

Can you post pics of EXACTLY what you've got and what you've done?

 

@buckrancher Brian was selling a replacement gasket diaphragm at one point.

K161 kohler engine it's on a 702 wheel horse tractor I have replaced the diaphragm two times and put seatent on it too but it still is leaking gas around the diaphragm

You shouldn't need sealant.

It may be that the two faces of the pump sandwiching the diaphragm are not mating together properly because one or the other side is not flat.

Using the same method as for flattening heads, I was able to take down the high spots on two pumps. No weeping here :hide:

Going to try a plastic fuel pump and may work on the old leaking one sometime thanks again for the help
