If that’s part of the steering setup than no.

But not sure if mines special but it doesn’t have that metal plate aimed down and on my shaft or whatever that part is called is taller if that helps any.

Or, RJ in transition to Suburban tractor.

Frame appears factory, unmolested to my eye.

What did Cecil’s fix look like, when the fellas in Spain were breaking the front ends off in the fields?  Straight From the Horses’ Mouth mentioned that he retrofitted them to make them bigger, better, stronger.

I think they went to the Suburban design

I do too, with the cast axle.  I’ve never seen the “conversion” though it was mentioned.

All I got…

But the pictures don’t show justice to “the kit”.

Very interesting find Craig. If it was re-worked there most likely should be signs of the old welds cut off and such. You have certainly seen enough of these tractors to know what is and what isn't so I trust what you say.

Guessing a late 59 with the new 1960 steering setup. A true unicorn find but there will always be some speculation. The birth of the fan gear steering

I'd assume the axle conversion sent to Spain was just enough to convert the axle and probably didn't include anything for upgrading the steering but who knows.

It's called

Straight from the Horse's Mouth

Written by Michael Martino. He did extensive research and interviewed Cecil Pond for much of the information.

You can find them on Ebay.

So I’ve been wondering for quite a bit is the reason for the suburbans axle design for More body roll or something or also structural?

Structural.   More weight carrying capacity than the rectangular tubing axle of the RJ.

Go to wheelhorsepartsandmore.com for $45 plus shipping! Good folks over there.

Amazon has them for ridiculous price, Ebay is $80.
