I seen this B-80 in someone’s place who recently died for 10 years now just sitting doing a little bit of nothin and been pushed around different places but never ran , I’m probably going to buy it maybe like $50-100 it’s in well the typical not rusted through but a lot of surface rust wheel horse fashion with brown instead on red paint but all original, and if I do I wanna make it my first wheelhorse I’m going to customize I have one already but it’s a show peice I want one I can just do whatever the hell I throw at it and a B-80 sounds good to me but I wanna flip the front axle upside down and flip then the spindles sure it’s right but wanted to know does this work can I flip the front axle then the spindles to have the axle pointing up on the ends not down , and what not , also I had the 1276 is not as bad as condition as this B-80 is I know I had to do some and some her and there to fix it , and I don’t know about kohler small blocks but I do know about kohler big blocks if you guys can maybe leave some stuff to check when I get it I probably don’t already know let me know is there anything special I need to check other than the basics for a garden tractor in the same condition, also I’ll try to take some pics of it when I can my motorcycle is my only form of transportation for now until I fix the light on my car or frame on my truck and the motorcycle is broke down to until I get the parts dec 6 or whatever

They are both basically the same other than throttle linkage.

The snap rings at the top of the spindles, as built, do not see a load - flip the axle and they see the FULL weight of the front of the tractor and WILL fail. Drill and tap for retainer screws and washers??

Kyle - @fast88pu has done this on the one I saw at @stevebo's two months ago - he may have comments for you...

@Bear G has a axle flip to give you some inspiration.

You may be better off doing a frame flip like @Ed Kennell did in this post.

I don’t mean this to come across wrong.  I found myself, with the lack of sentences, my mind just went into a blur.

Now that my eyes and head can pause and take a breath, I saw something that wasn’t mentioned yet.

If you do a search for “base line” or “checklist”, you’ll find this thread here.  It’s full of all kinds of good info.  :handgestures-thumbupright:
