WH654 23 #1 Posted July 19, 2009 Has anybody ever organized a Wheel Horse or Garden Tractor "trail ride"? I think it would be cool to meet with a bunch of people and see all there tractors work/run... I don't have another wheel horse yet, still looking but, just thinking of neat things to do with it, to enjoy it... Chugging along at 3 or 4 mph on a wheel horse through trails in the woods can be very relaxing and fun. Even if it was just a half mile or so loop it would be neat.
Redbird 1 #2 Posted July 19, 2009 Hey Scott I agree with you. Every now and then i\I get the urge to just get on my tractor and ride around the property. The other day my hubby and I got on our Surburbans and went a half mile down the road and got ice creams I really liked the people looking at the tractors and smiling. You could see, in the eyes of some of the older gentlemen, days past as they thought back. Maybe we can make some plans next year for a "camping/riding weekend some where close for everyone. Anyone up for the idea??????
Red Iron 1 #3 Posted August 6, 2009 I gotta agree, just puttering around the lawn gets boring if it is not big. I have driven to town for a festival once, 3 miles on my 1054. Yeah, it took a little while getting there, but definately had people waving. The town hosts an annual Cherry Festival, spitting the pit too. Few folks putter around town driving whatever they got, tractors or cushmans. The local Jonny Poppers club (JD 2 Cylinder club) strut their stuff in the parade July 4th every year. I do cruise down to the post office (1/2 mile) sometimes. Tractors do not have to work all the time, they should entertain too. :thumbs2:

AMC RULES 37,134 #5 Posted October 25, 2014 We should do an "epic" ride at the big show.
Kennedy 90 #6 Posted October 27, 2014 I have contemplated having a meet an greet/trail ride this coming spring. My wife and I have 23 acres in south east Ohio near the Ohio river. There are a couple hills on the trail that might be a little much for a garden tractor though. Not sure if anyone would be interested or not. If so I may go ahead with it. 19richie66 17,522 #9 Posted October 29, 2014 Trail ride would be cool. I was watching some off road tractors videos yesterday. Im not wanting to hit any mud holes but it would be neat just to go cruising around. I am going to start cruising my neighborhood with the dogs in tow when I get my 418 back together. Load them in a trailer and hit the road.
squonk 41,320 #10 Posted October 30, 2014 We should do an "epic" ride at the big show. As long as the "Hot Rodders" don't run us over! Bring some food, drinks and a tent stay the weekend. I have a construction porto jon.i don't think there is enough room to ride in a porto potty! Some of us older guys would need to tow it around for pit stops! MooneyM20F 4 #11 Posted November 1, 2014 Your 23 acres , is about 10 hrs from me,.......But that's not a prob. I'm in. I wonder why the wheelhorse community is primarily in the north east?

Digger 66 3,485 #14 Posted November 15, 2014 There's a school a little south of me that has " take your tractor to school " twice a year . You kind of do a double-take the first time you drive by & see 100 different tractors parked on the lawn . I think the trail ride is a great idea & may produce some photos for an upcoming calendar ? specialwheelhorse 174 #17 Posted November 16, 2014 When visiting a very dear friend in Midway Pa. he and I ride many a mile on a riding biking hiking trail that's just across the road from his house Used to be a railroad and runs for many miles east and west. Now Terry has permission to ride our horses ( wheel ) of course Since no motorized vehicles allowed. You see Terry Yenko has CP as many of you know. And this is always a special time for us. As things are now, due to distance and health issues I can no longer travel to Terrys, so this special therapy for us, sad to say will not be for us again. Something we used to really look forward too. GREAT IDEA !!!!!!
