How to remove hydro control lever plastic handle?

Just to add my 2 cents. I have a 875 with a plow set up. In certain positions the plow left to right lever is really close , almost touches the automatic forward/reverse lever. A thicker handle on either lever would create a problem.

That is very much appreciated information!

I'll triple check that plow lever and re-bend it or make a new one if I have to. Thanks Don.

Unfortunately I had to work today...

I've really had about enough of jobs intervening with my fun time but I have to get money somewhere...

@D_Mac

Thanks for the pic.

A little outward Z bend in that plow angle lever would solve that right quick.

You would have to do something with the release rod if you bend the handle. Wonder if a golf club grip would slide over the hydro grip. Just a thought.

Been thinking about changing over to a bicycle cable anyway so that would be a good driving force to make me get to the conversion.

This is what I did to mine.Added a bigger knob to it.I drilled a hole down through the plastic and screwed  a brass coupler fitting in and attached the knob to that.

I would still like it a couple inches longer though.

Find an open end wrench that is a good fit on the shaft and the bottom of the "handle" Use the Heat gun, but judiciously - don't overdo it. Use a heavy glove, better yet, one of those silicone grippy pads for opening bottle caps. Grip the handle, give it an upward twist while applying upward pressure on the wrench below

This method... With a little help... Worked super slick.

Grabbed the heaterator gun.

I put a 7/16 wrench on the bottom of the knob and after heat it moved a skosh. Tapped it VERY gently with a small hammah and up it went!
