elcamino/wheelhorse 9,326 #1 Posted November 24, 2022 I installed the new drive pulley on the Waldomobile by aligning the outside edge of drive pulley and trans pulley with a straight edge . The bearing sleeve extends 1 1/4 inches beyond the end of of the crank shaft . Does that sound right ? The instructions for the PTO does not give any measurements. elcamino/wheelhorse 9,326 #4 Posted November 24, 2022 It is a 8 hp K181s with a 3 1/2" crank . I checked the bearing sleeve on my c-120 1974 and it is even with the end of the shaft. I checked the original drive pulley with the new pulley and they are exactly the same size. The old drive pulley was only a 1/16 off the block so I adjusted the new pulley to that measurement and the bearing sleeve is 7/16 inched from the end of the crank. I have several old bearing sleeves and they are all the same length. I can't remember if the bearing sleeve extended on the crank when I went to remove it and pulley but I have a vague memory of the sleeve being longer than the crank. If you didn't like the look of how it extends, you could probably hack some of the sleeve off with a band saw... but personally, I'd leave it alone. LOL Seriously though... back some time ago, I found what I think were called Milwaukee 'extreme metal' band saw blades that have cut through some sick materials. 1 blade has lasted me innumerable cuts of ridiculous metals where I would normally use a grinder. I 'll check out sleeve at the BS to see if there are different lengths. Now is there some secret way to hold my tongue or hand shake to get the gear shift in a 8 speed. correctly . I have tightened the dog point screw 25 times and removed the same and I can't seen to get the shift lever in correctly. When you look down in the shifter hole the top of the 2 shift forks should look like a square, centered in the hole. I am going to try to see how it runs tomorrow. I am concerned about the pulley clearage to the block . Only about 1/16 inch.
