Thanks for posting the video's. I've seen the '86 video's before. Has any one found any earlier advertisement or dealer video's Like the C series or older?

Those are fun videos.  Thanks for linking them.

A couple of curiosities:

In the first video the early parts show the museum that was set up in the front of the Ireland Rd plant. These were the tractors that moved to the Studebaker Museum when Toro moved operations from South Bend to Bloomington, MN.   Included in that collection is that Gibson lever steer that they had confused with one of Elmer and Cecil’s early contraptions.

The section on the 100 series is kind of neat as it shows the hanging battery that allows you to stand the rider up vertically on its wheelie bars for storage.  I’ve always thought this was a fantastic feature.

Both the Vac Mower and the Edger were made by MacLane and rebranded for Wheel Horse.  They were both very well built machines.

If you look closely in the section on the 718-Z you’ll see that some of the footage is actually of the model that preceded the 718.  This one is the model 5018 that instead of having a horizontal shaft Kohler M18 has a vertical shaft boxer twin Briggs.  There is an oil cooler mounted on top of the engine that’s visible when they load/unload the tractor from the trailer (pulled by a Jeep pickup!).   That same 5018 shows up in the vid here and there and you can see its decal schema is a bit goofy.

While it’s not super impressive, the 520 video shows a Lambert high speed commercial lawn sweeper being drug around by a the tractor.  I’ve only seen a few through the years and whenever I do I am reminded of how heavily built they are compared to other sweepers.  I bet they take some power to pull.

I find it kind of funny that they make special mention of their five step finishing process when we’ve seen - years later - that Toro/WH’s paint system really didn’t hold up that well.

Great videos.

Steve
