Charger 12 Belts

Recommended Posts

Jake Wilkerson

I’m having a hard time figuring out what belts I need before I rip this thing apart.

I’ve got a Charger 12 1-7251 with a Mower 5-7366

Ive got 2 belts sitting on the shelf

Gates 6378 (1/2”x103 1/4”)

Gates 6886 (1/2” x 86”)

Are either of these applicable to this machine?

UPDATE : I ripped it apart and it doesn’t seem like either belt is for the PTO and this particular pulley bearing is smoked. Anybody have a part number or common size I could find locally?

Tractor drive belt # 7478 replaces # 4535 (HB/5L x 84.22" or 5/8" x 84.22")

5-7366

Drive belt 9360 (1/2" x 95.63") [1/2" x 97" in ipl looks wrong]
Spindle belt 8411 (1/2" x 76.94")

4567 bearing

The pulley I have my pliers on feels plastic and doesn’t look to have a serviceable bearing. I’ll have to take a closer look.

Thank you for the other part numbers.

If you wonder what the CW is in the file title it is the clockwise rotation of the blades as viewed from the top.

At the time there was a series of decks that used counter-clockwise blades and the deck model numbers were similar making confusion.

Adding CW and CCW fixed that.

If you dig into the grease you should find a retaining ring on one side. It maybe on the other side.

The other pulley uses the same bearing and ring if they are original.

After speaking with the fella selling bearings there’s no way this is the factory pulley since it’s not metal.

Ive got a mule drive on my 73 no name I may try and see if either of its idlers are compatible. If not, I’ll just have to source another idler from somewhere.

I think if I try to press this bearing out the pulley will fail.
