David414 289 #1 Posted November 14, 2022 I de-rusted and repainted the framework for my snow cab and repainted the fiberglass top. Hopefully, good for another 30 years. My current snow / dozer blade is 48" on a 1989, 414-8. I extended the width by adding bolt on metal wings to make a 64" (63.5" actual). Filled rear tires, plus 83 lb. each rear cast iron wheel weights, plus a weight box that can hold an additional 200 lbs. gives a total add on weight of 480 lbs. of rear ballast. I have an asphalt driveway with a slight 5-degree grade, using Ag tires with no chains. Looking forward to snow! 3
ebinmaine 67,330 #2 Posted November 14, 2022 Awesome blade! I have one that was built by @wallfish John and measures 60" across the skid steer cutting edge which is one I put on. You'll want to get all the traction you possibly can and then some.
Pullstart 62,812 #3 Posted November 14, 2022 Wow, that looks like a brute! I hope no ice piles or interferences hit those ends!
peter lena 8,589 #4 Posted November 14, 2022 @David414 nice looking set up , verify your front end lubrication , with that extra loading , lubricate front of blade for easy slide off . 303 marine pump aerosol , for that vinyl , shed moisture like a duck , pete

Those ends are functional, but "delicate" - I do not see any reinforcements at the ends or tops. Probably great for a few inches of fluffy stuff.. a true time saver.

The edge, alone, weighs almost what the whole plow does. If I bend that edge on anything in my yard I've probably got worse problems happening already.
