Would the coil on a 417 series 2 work on a 418?

I do not know the answer, but if you pull up the manuals in the Engine Manual section, you could check part numbers and figure it out.  My thought is that is what any of us would have to do.  So, while you are sitting back having everyone else do the leg work...check it out yourself and then ask questions if you have not figured it out.  Sorry, but our time is valuable also.  :confusion-confused:  Nobody is going to know the answer to that question with out going to manuals and spending the time checking out what you want to know.

After asking the question I realized I made a mistake.  I thought someone stole the coil from my 418 but I confused it with my 417.  The 18 has the coil on the flywheel and the 17 on the intake manifold.

:text-imsorry:       417 is a battery ignition, 418 is a magneto ignition. Totally different system components.
