Sad day for Hobby Folks…

Yesterday at the Wings Over Dallas, a terrible collision happened, with no survivors.  God rest their souls.  It’s sad for all hobby people, these people’s passions just happened to be wings, instead of tractors.  This young man’s explanation is very easy to follow.  It’s so sad, regardless of the reason..

We have had so many incidents at air shows, I hope that the future shows promote more safety and not yield to entertainment value.  The video gives some good insight and should be considered whenever multiple aircraft are showing their abilities.

From the video it looks like way to much traffic flying around up there at one time. These guys put on shows and while I'm sure they are all great pilots, most military trained, they do not practice together routinely like the Blue Angels or the Thunderbirds. You put that many different planes all flying around each other in the same air space something is going to happen eventually.

Kind of like the Friday Night Cruise at the Big Show…   I hope the different skill sets and tractor models never bring a tragedy…

Lots of investigation to go.  Not many questions answered, but understandably.

Very sad!!! Being a pilot, EAA member, and having been fortunate enough to actually get a ride in a B-17, this is very sad. It is wat too early to place any blame or to speculate as to the cause. Prayers for the families of the crews and all those affected by this tragedy. God Bless.

Sad day indeed. My dad had the opportunity to meet the crew and tour the B17 a few years back when they were stopped at a local airport for fuel and maintenance. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this horrible tragedy.

Truly a horrendous accident. Remember these aircraft have no fancy radar and avionics like modern aircraft do. 

These pilots were flying with the same gear that was used in the war and there were mid air collisions back then. 

Incredibly brave and skilled pilots then as now. In my opinion such aircraft must be kept flying and displaying to educate and keep alive the memory of our glorious dead and valiant warriors.

Rest easy knowing you did your best guys.
