Just make sure that you have any rubber seals removed from the carb, cause it will dissolve them. https://www.autozone.com/fuel-and-engine-cleaners-additives/carburetor-and-throttle-body-cleaner/p/berryman-chem-dip-carburetor-parts-cleaner-96oz/139313_0_0?cmpid=LIA:US:EN:AD:NL:1000000:PER:8362741362&gclid=Cj0KCQiApb2bBhDYARIsAChHC9t5l5i8AwLur6QmXro4iyWvevofiYKL7q9uRZnKke2ZhwzV4EBbrT4aAqYZEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds Gunk also make a carb/ parts cleaner, I don't think that it is as effective as Berrymanns though. 39 dollars at local autozone -- cheaper than amazon

I've tried many different kinds... CRC being the one I currently have. You can tell from my "eye roll emoji" ...I don't feel that it's very effective.. definitely going to pick up some B-manns and give that a whirl next time I need to clean a carb! AHS 1,440 #29 Posted November 12, 2022 The first thing I’m going to do is print a manual off here! I’ve got a bunch of Kohler K and Magnum singles, but this is the first twin I’ve ever had! 😀
Brockport Bill 1,667 #30 Posted November 12, 2022 here is photo of my C175 Series 1 engine to differentiate from the C175 Series 2 that I posted earlier in this thread - not a great photo but shows the difference

I've been looking for a good soaking liquid lately... didn't think Epsom salt was a good option... Don I've tried Berrymans and Gunk. Both work about the same as near as I can see. 1

AHS 1,440 #33 Posted November 14, 2022 Ok, I have that “occasional backfire at top end” from what the seller said, I trust him. I am going to replace the points, condenser, coil and clean the carb. (Or replace the carb— isavetractors has them). What do you think?

ebinmaine 67,567 #35 Posted November 14, 2022 In my opinion it would be a great idea to replace things one at a time. One. Replace Condenser. Two. Clean or replace points. Three. CLEAN carburetor. Not sure the coil is part of the equation here.... Could be.
