Hello All,

would anyone be able to give an axle seal part number and availability. Toro 314 with hydro

Here is the ipl. Once you have the Toro number go to the top of our Transmission section to some pined topics on alternative seals. Napa and SKF are popular sources.

These seals are for :wh: Hydros with 1 1/8" axles. I have used them and the are a great fit.

My best luck has been with the SKF seals. Stay away from old stock stuff. I have got some bargains and the seals failed after a running a while. Just think they were old and not pliable.

The metal housing on SKF seals are half the thickness of the OEM seal, and this allows the seal to be installed into the housing deeper and lets the seal run on a better part of the shaft. Plus if no thrust washer is used the seal will not be rubbed by the hub cause the axle floats a but in and out.

@case442   https://www.zoro.com/palmetto-packing-packing-extractor-removable-7-12-in-l-1101/i/G2594417/?   make it easy to remove those seals , tiny hole in seal side wall , screw this in , and pop them out , picture is for reference , if you can get it locally / cheaper ,  do that . while you are there , look over related areas , pete
