520H hydraulic cylinder rebuild

Recommended Posts

horseyheaven

Hi everyone,

I am rebuilding a hydraulic lift cylinder for my 520h.  I need the snap ring that holds the piston in the bore.  Mine snapped into many pieces while taking it apart.  The cylinder measured 1.51” but I could not get a good measure down in the groove.  I am guessing 1 9/16” or 1 5/8”.  I can’t find a part number or size on any of the parts sites.  I thought some of you may have ran into this before.  Thanks everyone and have a good evening.  Will

Just take the cylinder and your snap ring pliers to Ace Hardwar or Napa and they will help you out. Be sure to install the snap ring with the square cut side out, the other side is slightly rounded and won't hold as well.

Do you use Viton or Buna o-rings in your kits?  Which is better for hydraulics and why?

@lynnmor will fix you up if you send him a PM. Click on the little envelope looking thing on the top right of the home page and type in his name and the "O" ring set as subject.
