Model # and Serial# on 414-8 are wiped (faded) , any other way ( or location) to find number(s)

Just purchased a 414-8, Serial number and Model #’s cannot be read, any other way to help determine what year i bought would be appreciated. Thank you

Welcome to the forum.

Post all the numbers of the engine data decal including the serial number.

Sometimes I take a picture of things that are hard to see and blow them up. Perhaps if you take a picture of the faded numbers, blow it up, and post it here we can see them better.

My 414-8 is a 1987 and the tag is only barely readable. I was lucky I knew the owners family and I also went to the local dealer and they still had all the original info. You will figure it out by the different engine spec and other yearly changes.

Do you have a K-series Kohler or a Magnum

"If a k-series it's a 1986 K321 S  no. 60440.

Magnum engine  1987 M14S no.60 1523 

                            1988 or 1989 no.  M14S 601540

Don't think you will find any differences in any of them
