D-200 wheels.

I recently acquired a D-200 from my father in law. I am planning on restoring it with my kids but I need to find new rear rims. Both are rusted out from being loaded with calcium. I haven’t been able to find any 6 lug replacements locally. Will 6 lug kubota rims fit the D series? Has anyone ever adapted the 5 lug wheels to work with with the 6 lug? Any information would be appreciated.

to the forum.  Bunch of good folks here.  Whatever part on a Wheel Horse that can be broken and repaired, somebody here has probably broken and repaired it, and will be happy to supply advice.

 

In the vendors section of the form, you will find several purveyors of Wheel Horse parts.  One of them can probably help you find what you are looking for.  Good chance that one of the forum members can come up with the parts too.

  In similar fashion, I’ve adapted 5 lug hubs to a 953, originally with a heavy 4 lug hub.  The tires on “Hot Wheels” are 27x10.50-12 Interco Interforce for a UTV.  They look very classic for a tractor, but much deeper lugs.

These are simply C series 1-1/8” hubs and wheels, with the Interco tires on them.  The axle keyway is 1/4” I believe and is cut straight through the hub.  I’d imagine you can verify your axles are similar.

I'll have to check what size the 200 axle is. Swapping out hubs might be a good option. I found a D160 for sale locally it might be worth buying if I could get it for decent price. Lots of extra parts. Just a different motor. Might be cheaper in the long run.

D series had 1-1/8" axles.  yes you can put a C series hub on there....but...  D's are big and heavy.  The D hub is much much beefier than a C series.  I guess it depends on how hard you plan on working it.

The 5 lug hubs with the split tappered bushing that A-Z tractor sells would stand up to the D-series. They are not cheap but that is what I would use.

@pfrederi has a good point there, they ARE a beefy tractor (and the hubs are bit#$ to pull!!). Dont rush in, here shud be someone on here that'll get you fixed up.

Yeah its a big machine 1000 pounds. I think finding stock rims or others that will fit is the best move.

The 520Xi is around the same weight and uses a 5 lug hub… but is prone to premature wear if they get loose.

I used cast iron dexter shorty hubs and put 3.75-12 steel wheels with 5.00-12 tri-ribs on the front and IntercoInterforce 30-10 x 12 rear AG tires

That’s a good looking machine. Thats what I want to use mine for tilling and snow blowing I also have a front blade for it.

Its why I got rid of my large frame Bolens 1886 with a loader, these loaders on garden tractors are just novelty toys. I still have my D series and 5-6 other big GTs but I for real work I picked up a Kubota B7100HST-D 4 x 4 with a loader and box blade
