Congrats! Looks like a good solid machine.

Hydros definitely make better mowers. I'm sure you will enjoy it!

HYD LIFT CONV 90-1136 90-1140.docxThe B-100 has Sundstrand Piston-to-Piston power unit.  If you can find the parts, it is quite easy to add the HYDRAULIC LIFT.  The OEM lift kit is part# 84113.  You can see it on the TORO MPV.   https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/index.cfm?xCaller=Toro

Aside from the hoses, ram, control valve, you will need the END CAP valve parts shown here. I have made up and provided a couple dozen of these Hyd lifts, but not sure where you'll find parts today.  NOTE... Best bet may be to locate from eBay...  Wheelhorse Parts N More can supply new hoses and O-rings as needed.  Hose #s are one the TORO MPV too.

Very cool story. Nice to see our own members help out when someone else... Didn't.

Looks like you've got a good solid runner there.

Interesting old style metal gas tank sideways mount.  :handgestures-thumbupright:

@daveoman1966 Excellent write up!

Thank you for sharing you long experience and knowledge.

I've done the conversion you folks are speaking of. Fairly easy.

He’s pretty excited. It sounds great and drove great when we picked it up. Haven’t even unloaded it yet. The gas tank is in there temporarily. The right one was included in the sale along with the air filter housing and filter, and a non dented hood.

Nice tractor with an auto. Is that your Dads Garage? If so, very nice and handy to have. Enjoy the auto, looks to be a good worker.

I am thinking about swapping it to hydro lift and using it as a mowing tractor

:text-coolphotos:                   Looks like a good sound tractor.   A strong young man like you should have no problem using the manual lift for mowing, I'm 77 years old and use the manual lift on my 310-8 for mowing all the time.

If you decide to swap over to hydraulic lift the removal of the old manual rock shaft will be the hardest part of the job. Part #46 slides into part #19 and is secured with a square key part #18. On the surface this seems simple enough but most of the time part #46 will be rusted (Brown Welded) inside of #18

@ WHEELHORSE- KID, nice pick up for you , also your working area is fantastic for a start point , would suggest that you lubricate as you go, on every rusty / crusty  movement area .also if you want to see what lubrication does to old faded paint , clean rag with penetrating oil in it , rub down some paint  , usually aerosol soak it down first ,  let it soak , next day rub it  down , glad for you , pete

Technically no it’s not my garage. I work for a place that lets me use the garage, lift and shop space. Tonight I had to pick my daughter up at her job which is conveniently 2 mins from my job. we picked up the tractor and instead of driving home we went to the shop where I used the tire machine to dismount old tires and install new tires on the rims of my 416H. While there Alex started tinkering using tools in the shop.

I definitely wish I had all this spade to work on stuff.

He’s definitely strong! But Crazywheelhorseman has all the parts needed to swap it over. He has 4 other tractors with hand lift so it would be something different for him.

Always great to see young folks appreciate the value in these old tractors and the fun / work you can have with them!

If you are determined to do the upgrade, have at it!

You should put this procedure up somewhere. Thought it doesn't happen much anymore due to lack of parts, it's good info to have.

With the help of our friend Kyle we heated up the block and we’re able to get the old Broken exhaust off and then my dad and I put a new one on.it was so much quieter and I got to drive it.still lots more to do.

I'll leave it to your devices to put this in a subject of the Wheelhorse Forum.  I wouldn't know where to post it.

Well Matt at least you can use it when you need it. I would say very handy especially the tire changer and rack.
