Thompson1276 256 #1 Posted November 5, 2022 After repainting the tractor over the summer myself I decided to redo the blade too , came out not that bad , I have wheel horse 55 plastic rear weights I have on now and chains I don’t have on yet , engine blew pulling trees and I redid it had people say I’m a “self proclaimed expert” , I didn’t go to tech school for small engine but I did for automotive technology and I sure am a Jack of all trades and do know what I’m doing if I don’t I’ll find a way to make it work , to those who think people who know nothing can’t rebuild a engine or redo a tractor like how I have been doubted in the past , I started this tractor before tech school and before any experience this is my experience shown in a picture of my first and best , it takes common sense to know how to rebuild a engine and redo a wheel horse , over the summer I never torn down a tractor to nothing I did in 2 hours and put it back in 3 no manual and it’s just fine , engine blew and I redid it no manual only torque spec sheet , and I’ll tell you it runs better than ever and to all those saying the motor was junk , or I don’t know how to rebuild it , I don’t know what I’m talking about , or what it’s called , I damn well don’t know what it’s called but I sure as hell know what it does and that’s what matters and I rebuilt that I engine in 2 days 3 hours per day and it came out just fine , to all who doubt this is the masterpiece someone who is a “self proclaimed expert” can do from not knowing **** at the beginning I know more than anyone in my Town when it comes to small engines I’m the person everyone calls and I can diagnose and fix anything without buying new or hiring someone to do my ****. ~Proudly

peter lena 8,637 #6 Posted November 5, 2022 @Thompson1276 looks like a nice refresh , glairing opportunity on your snow blade , notice the outer lower wear edges on the blade ? flip that over , so you have a new square edge , before you start to wear into the blade itself . that will give you lots of use , also penetrant oil to soak in and feed the dry metal . looks good , pete 1

peter lena 8,637 #10 Posted November 5, 2022 @Thompson1276 yes that will give you a saving time on that , another thing is probably the opportunity to lubrication detail in that plow steering quadrant box , the linkage is typically sloppy in its set up , you can add washers and red grease lubricant to every lever point , firming them up and making it work easy . that lever squeeze point / pin in the quadrant should be red greased , use the aerosol for tough spots , that lever slide pin will sound like a rifle bolt , with easy lever squeeze . also use elastic lock nuts on the lever swing bolt , to hold the smoothest setting , and at back of bottom lever bolt point . put hair pin 1/8" clips in the rear hitch mount side holes , push them all the way in to last hole , so they won't fall out , also lubricate that swing point . also lubricate your lever handle , movement points , make the rust run out . keep it greasy , pete
