Looking for jib crane ideas

Even though I am getting older and the back is weaker I still need to move items about the yard.  I have an eight foot piece of 2" pipe that I could use to construct a jib crane.  Since this project is currently in its infancy I am looking for ideas of how you might assemble it and attached to a 312-8.  Initial design parameters include easy attachment and be able to lift 200 pounds and be pivotable.

First idea is to mount the crane to the hitch receiver.  Ground bracing when picking up a load is fairly easy, but how do I keep it upright and sturdy while driving? 

Second idea is us the front tach-o-matic and extend back to where the plow connects at the rear axle.  

Third idea is use the front tach-o-matic and also connect where the mower deck connects.

 

Ok - there is the outline of what I am rolling over in my brain.

 

Thoughts anyone?

This is not a jib crane but it will easily lift 400 lbs

If you make it into a mini-trailer with a pivot at the hitch and a couple of inflatable tire caster at the back it should be stable and follow you where ever you go, easy to back up too.  Something like this;

Excellent idea Richard.

There are massive loader style cranes which Americans often refer to as knuckle booms that are on super heavy duty versions of this. It creates a loophole in the weight restrictions of some states. By putting the crane on its own trailer even though it's permanently attached to the vehicle it adds a lot to the weight carrying capability by gross vehicle capacity. 

 

IIFF properly built it would be an excellent addition.

Agreed.

I may have to incorporate this into my own build.
