Questions about the 60's model numbering

Yea I got a 1054 "Work Horse" too. Always wondered if there were others.Thought they might have been replaced at one time.Glad to know they are original.

The"Work Horse" decals appeared on these machines for a bit but I don't know exactly when or how many. Period advertising does often refer to the 953/1054 as the "Work Horse" tractors so this may have been the initial intention. I imagine it may have caused a bit of brand identity confusion and was then dropped. I've seen the Work Horse decals before although the 953 and 1054A the we had were both labeled with the more common Wheel Horse decals. I wonder if it was a regional thing?
