I mentioned primer bulbs on here about 7 years ago

I may have missed if you’ve ever mentioned it @lynnmor, but do you use primer bulbs ?

You don't say?

dynamic compression factors in valve overlap, intake velocity, temperature, ignition timing, engine speed, cumbustabilty of the fuel and engine efficiency.  You cant physically test dynamic compression without measuring the cylinder pressure while its running or attempting to run.  A cold engine is less efficient when it comes to igniting fuel.

Remind us one more time what that has to do with an engine getting fuel? :eusa-think:

One more thing... not to get too technical... but DCR is a calculation... not a measurement... and you have to know a lot more about an engine than SCR to determine it.

DCR is relevant in cam selection only. Any other conversation about DCR is irrelevant, ignorant, and silly. The fact alone that DCR entered this thread should speak to where this conversation has gone.

I'm done now. :handgestures-thumbupright:

BTW, we get nothing out of saying that an engine is less efficient when it is cold.

Fuel will ignite if exposed to spark.

Simple concept.

Ya' just gotta have da' fuel...

Oh come now...in all the time you spent googling a response, you got cocky and forgot that gasoline has a flash point, at or below that flash point the vapor will not ignite, you also failed to consider that if the mixture is excessively rich it will not ignite...thats why burned wires on an in-tank fuel pump arent alarming..all that delicious fuel and ignition, but no oxygen.

I blocked you months ago but your posts still show up; because you obsess over me..im flattered, but please do me a favor and block me back...do us all a favor.

Never knew a check valve, or whether or not to install one could be so complicated and confusing…

@John c, try a check valve, and/or a primer bulb…

let us know if it helps…

No, if I could find bulbs that weren't 5 inches long, ethanol resistant, have good ratings and for a reasonable cost, I might buy them.  I just put up with the long cranking time knowing that it ain't all bad since the oil pressure comes up before the engine fires.  I offered the suggestion for those that insist on instant starts.

Isnt it fun when the ethanol breaks one down and it sticks to your hand🤣

The response that you quoted is common-sensical... not cocky. Truth never fears a challenge.

If you want to discuss the temperature at which gasoline vapors ignite when exposed to an ignition source... then maybe it is a good thing that you 'blocked' me or whatever... because gasoline flash point is such a low temperature, I actually can't physically believe that you brought it up. I was never going to bring that up... it is ...beyond anything I have ever seen posted on a tractor forum.

Not sure what you are trying to accomplish here... but logic-wise it isn't working. Attacking me personally isn't working either.

I jumped in this conversation WAY after you started driving it off the rails... I didn't want to 'rock the boat.' I just can't comprehend why you can't leave this thread alone.

Most of the members here don't go back and respond to you... not sure if you noticed that or not. I'm learning from them... slowly.

The reason why I don't ignore you is because I'm not afraid to go head-to-head with someone about engines... I build 'em, I run 'em... but I'd rather be in a conversation with someone who is coherent and wishes to share knowledge. The fact that you never respond to me when I press you on engine knowledge is VERY telling... instead you come back with some response that is even further off topic. It's as if you want to make SOMEONE here look stupid... you started that from post #20... so it has nothing to do with me... :eusa-think:

I think it's sad and a shame... and I don't know what your problem is, but I've got better things to do. :greetings-waveyellow:

Im begging you..please block me, i have neither the will nor desire to engage with you again, you are as much of a contrarian, holier than though, suck-up as ive ever come across in 23 years of small engine forums, and that's saying something because that goes back into the WheelHorse yahoo group, please, block me so we will never cross paths on here again...I love discussing things with these guys, i love wheel horses, old engines, everyone here is great and we can bounce ideas and knowledge off one another all day from years of useful, valuable experience...but you offer absolutely nothing of value.
