Fourwheels0 asked permission to post his go fund me to the forum as he is experiencing some unexpected medical expenses which he is asking for help with. We have given him the permission to do so. The appeal was rather vague and I am not familiar with its author. @nylyon explanation clarified it a bit. Here are my thoughts on this. This particular time in my life certainly gives me a clearer perspective on this. I don't know Mike and never had any interactions within the site with him. I have no reason to trust or distrust his current situation. I can however sympathize with his current situation. When things with our health go south in this country they can indeed turn to the worst. Some may say that we should have prepared earlier in life for these situations as far as finances go but it is easier said than done. I find myself all of a sudden without advance notice being seen by five specialists from Oncologists, Hematologists, Brain and Spine Neurosurgeons and everyone else in between. Weekly sometimes daily MRI's, Scans,EMG's blood tests, etc.I may start glowing in the dark any day now.Unlike many however, life has been good to me. I have and continue making plenty of money and I am heavily over insured. I see however the costs associated with my medical care. It is nothing short of armed highway robbery and a monopoly. Even with being over insured everything turns into a fight with the insurance companies. Seems that one almost has to be in our death bed in order for them to willingly pay for anything and then they may also decide that it is no longer worth it.I can imagine my situation had I not been so lucky in life. Essentially one can say that one's rights and dignity as a human beings are stripped from us when in that situation. Sad. So after saying all of that here is my thinking.I want to believe that Mike is a good human being who has fallen in hard times. If not he will eventually be judged by higher "authorities" and any help given will not really do him any good. He has not presented his situation as convincingly as he could but not all of us are good at these things. It is also a very hard thing to do.There are a lot of us in here. This thread has close to 500 views. Even a very minimum donation from each one will be worth much more to him. After all many of us will drop that on a fancy designer cup of coffee on a daily basis. It is not going to change our lives one way or another. I would not walk by a stranger needing legitimate help on the street. Mike has been here a long time. A couple of others here already donated. I've been dealing with physical and health issues for about 15yrs and over that time have had to Unfortunately use up all my savings and sell just about all my belongings (even all my wheel horse stuff). I don't like to ask for help but it's gotten to the point I have no choice. Lots of unfair things going on in this society. When one is in the hole , it just keeps getting bigger. Many of us don't seem to realize that the majority is not doing well. Health care is a Monopoly. Just take a look at the photo below. One of my wife's medications 3 months worth. Same medication in Europe in a factory sealed box , marked MADE IN USA cots about $50.00. Here dispensed from a large jar in the pharmacy who buys it whole sale it costs $1,560.99. Luckily again we are over insured and we pay $30.00. The actual fair price for it which is paid in Europe. What happens if you have no insurance and an endless amount of money? Its hard not to get political , however can anyone explain away just this single example? Trust me I have many more!
