bc.gold 3,403 #1 Posted October 23, 2022 I've known about ORP for years but had no understanding of its value, I had purchased this meter to monitor some chemistry reactions that require a certain ORP reading. The meter arrived Friday and for fun yesterday fooled around with various sources of water. Healthy water for he record should read between 300 / 500 mv, bottled water is in the 300 range. My tap water reads 163 mv which indicates low oxygen content, My rain barrel water 141 mv, caused by decaying organic matter which is an oxygen robber. Finally realized why the farmers burn their fields, its to get rid of any organic matter which will decay then rob the future crop of the valuable oxygen from snow melt or rain as it peculates through the soil. Also healthy water is able to absorb nutrients from applied fertilizers. Next on my wish list, a Ph meter. I acquired a large double door freezer with ten shelves that I'm going to turn into a growing chamber. Figure it will be easy to control the environment. The Berkel automatic meat slicer inside the freezer was also gifted to me, the motor is most likely burned out. Rewinding the motor should be a fun project.
bc.gold 3,403 #2 Posted October 23, 2022 (edited) Oxygen makes for healthy water, you can aerate the water, add hydrogen peroxide or ozone to increase the oxygen content. I'm going to use aeration powering my air pump via a windmill. I already have the blade for the mill, hiding behind that sheet of OSB. Garage door has been framed in and sheeted over with some of the roofing tin salvaged form the building demolition is did awhile back. The 16ft 2"x12"s made a great work bench with a shelf underneath for storing extra junk. The frame for the bench made from angle iron welded together then anchored to the concrete floor. Added a 60 amp electrical panel, Installed led lights, insulation and paneling completed about all that's remaining is to paint the walls and floor. One neighbor asked me why I had closed off the garage door and not use the garage to park my car, I told him it would be a waste of valuable space. bc.gold 3,403 #3 Posted October 23, 2022 (edited) This air compressor a bit small for my purpose, these are what you find inside those all purpose battery packs. Crankshaft and connecting rod remind me of those 049 model airplane engines I had as a kid. Edited October 23, 2022 by bc.gold

The finer bubbles you can induce the better. Also depending on how much you need/want to increase the O2 ppm, you may need to include a "change in pressure" ie to get the water to uptake the O2 .
