The antique tractor bug bit again

We made the decision a couple weeks ago to sell our 1974 GMC camper. I loved that old camper, but we didn't use it enough to justify keeping it around. In the year and a half we owned it we took it camping twice and took it to one tractor show. After it sold, I just couldn't resist the urge to buy another toy to replace it. This 1946 H has been sitting at a small used car lot in the next town over for as long as I can remember. Worked out a deal on it last weekend and picked it up today. Then while we were there I ended up scoring a deal on a 1940 M with a loader as well. Going back tomorrow to get the M. The H is stuck but I looked down in all the cylinders with my scope and it looked really clean inside. Hoping it's just a couple stuck rings or a stuck valve from sitting. The M was running a couple years ago, went to the local farm store and picked up a battery for it, gonna take it and some gas with me tomorrow and see if we can get it running on site before we load it to come home

Great tires all around. Rear lift. Good solid overall condition.

Looks like a win. 👍

What's your collection at now?

Nice looking H, with rear wheel weights and a very well done, which I assume to be a homemade 3 point hitch.

We are up to 7 large tractors now. We've got 2 Cases (53 DC3 and 42 SC), a Ford 2N, and 4 Farmalls (40 M, 46 H, 49 C and 51 M). There's also a 53 Farmall Super M, a 1949 Ford 8N, and a 1949 John Deere A out here, but they are all sold just waiting on them to be picked up.

Then of course there are the 8 Wheel Horses, a Choremaster one wheeler, a couple old trucks, two boats, the International LB, 15 Maytag engines, 2 Maytag washers, I'm sure I could name more but that's just what I can think of right of my head. I've come to the conclusion that I have a problem, one that cannot be cured by any method other than buying more old iron

Got the M loaded up and to the house. Sometimes working for a wrecker service has its advantages. Took the new battery and some gas with me this morning...was able to get it to fire, but it does need some carburetor work (which I expected) and it is stuck in a gear. Not sure which one yet, wind is blowing about 45 mph out of the south today, but maybe one evening after work this week I'll get the cover pulled off the top of the transmission and find out what's going on inside.

After a little bit of work the H is freed up and running, have to get a new gasket for the sediment bowl. It runs gas all over the place as soon as the valve is opened, but I must say it runs surprisingly well considering that two hours prior to this video the engine was stuck
