Any guidance on the difficulty of the operation -- doesn't seem like it should be too bad? And, any ideas on a good vendor for purchasing said engine? I think it's a tecumseh. I should say, that it's leaking gas and oil, and is low on power. Assuming it needs to be replaced. 953 nut 55,286 #2 Posted October 22, 2022 I think most 8-25 mowers had a B&S engine and the closer your replacement engine is to the original the easier the engine swap will be. You could use any vertical crankshaft engine with the same size crankshaft but connecting wires and cables would be an adventure if another engine were used. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
