hey guys, so kinda feel this is a stupid question but should i have the tractor running when i check the  transmission fluid?? like you do for a car.

I’m not much of an Eaton specialist, but I believe as long as fluid has been pumping through, you check it without the engine running.  @pfrederi @JoeM @19richie66 @lynnmor might know?

Manual say check oil while it’s cold. I have always checked it before staring it.  Here is a copy of the manual. Just double click it.

Yes, cold, engine not running.

Some of the 11's will back drain a little and can run out the dipstick. People add to them right after they are run thinking the oil level is low and then they are over full. The pump pulls off of the bottom of the sump and would have to get extremely low to do any damage. 

I like checking before the first start of the day.

Check the oil with the engine off.  If you change the oil or leave the tractor sitting for a long period of time, start it up and drive it forward and backward a bit, also run the lift up and down a few times to purge any air.  Check the oil after it sits awhile.
