Last Haul, I promised

Sorry Karen, there’s no fix for Wheel Horses Anonymous!

Nice find Richie!  What size are those rear tires, they seem smaller than the normal 24x12’s on a D.  Plans for it?  Worker on the farm?

Speaking of tractors and promises… I pinky promised Mrs. P thatI wouldn’t touch the JD backhoe until our bathroom is finished.  I need to trim and hang a new door still.  2? 3? Years later.  Still haven’t touched that ‘hoe!  :laughing-rolling:

Those are actually the 15” wheels. Not sure what the size is. Just got around to messing with it today. Will look tomorrow. Took the snow chains off and the tires are toast. I have another set of tires just like what’s on Skittles but need 10” wide wheels to run them.

Try ‘em on the ones you have, they might not look terrible…

I might try it. They are 11” wide tires so we’ll see. Might just work. Want to get the transmission figured out before I put too much effort into it. Wish I still had that XI eaton transmission 😢

@19richie66 Does any of the hydraulics work? Just wondering if you have a tranny or pump issue. Also, did you check the tow valve to see if it was open?

The tow valve is closed. I did back it out and reseat it. The hydraulics do work. Not sure how fast the lifts are supposed to work. It seems slow but both cylinders do work. When I move the motion lever, it does move a hair forward or backwards and then stops. Makes a strange gurgling/grinding noise. I checked the parking brake lever to make sure it was off. Fluid is full and clean with newer filter. Thinking something inside the drive motor has wet the bed. I’ll pull the drive motor and check it.

Sound like that is where the problem is, here is some good reading material for you.

I got it running this morning but she won’t move. I see some transmission work is in my future.

@19richie66 I've been suspecting this would be the first "D" with an Eaton in it!

I have something up my sleeve it either of these transmissions don’t do the trick. It may work. Not sure yet.

Like most of us!

I must have said a thousand times or at least a few hundred. "I am going to get rid of some of these tractors!" Only to let one go and then go and pick up two! :confusion-shrug:

I can be a witness if she wants to get that in writing... :teasing-signhere:

Of course, I would play the "amnesia" card the next time you came home with another machine.... :laughing-rofl:
