Only WH engine transplants in the future

Open the hood on a late model Ford diesel pickup, you cannot see even a square inch of engine.  To do any major engine work the cab needs to come off.

Same with my ‘01 Chevy Duramax.  I CAN pull the valve covers with the cab on, BUT it’s easier with the cab off!

1953 M-37 3/4 Ton

 

Engine is Dodge 230ci flat head 6.  used om Chrysler corp vehicles from 1937 to about 1957

Is that engine as bullet proof as the old ford flat heads? I remember servicing those fords and not much repairs were necessary. 

I think they said "BIG JOB FORD" on the sides
