Thanks for the images, Bob.

I've not seen the plastic inserts in the governor arm and throttle plate arm before. Combined with the spring, this must be a really smooth mechanism. I'll have to look around for some of those!

The connection of the throttle from below that doesn't use the little lever on the governor arm must need extra resistance to hold the throttle open! :)

This is the best running K181 that I own.

Interesting Bob. Pros and cons of coming over the top versus the bottom?

Over top should be a shorter cable = less cable friction?

Over the top enables one to use that extended tab/hole.

I believe the Kohler manual shows the bottom way.

Mine are rigged both ways.

Not seeing the purpose of that spring in 2nd pic when there That's is a solid link.

That's the way it was when I got the tractor.

That is a very light spring and all it does is take play out of the linkage by keeping the two arms tight to the linking wire.

The manual does show how it all goes together and adjustment.

I got a fresh build on the bench I'll get a pic.

Thank you that would be greatly appreciated. I think I have my mind wrapped around how it should be set up and will work.

Bet that takes a good bit of spark plug wire to go from the base of the motor all the way up to the head... :P

Don

Probably not much choice in locational, big old starter gen goes on the other side of the motor.
