dbreeze911 13 #1 Posted October 8, 2022 My 312-8 is missing a Rear Attachment/Tiller Cable. Will this TS cable work? Where would your recommend to buy the real cable if not this? What length should it be? ty https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/mtd-lift-cable-746-0968?cm_vc=-10005
Racinbob 11,045 #2 Posted October 8, 2022 I don't think it will be long enough. You really need a rock shaft kit. Rock Shaft Kits Archives - Wheel Horse Parts and More 2

Easy pickin's thanks @Racinbob Would you mind taking a look at the first and last image in this tread? I'm trying to figure out how to fix this sweeper's chain tensioner. I hit a hole and now the chain won't stay on bcs the tensioner fits slightly cattywompus on the sweeper frame. There are no spacers or bushings which it appears to need.
TAC72 1 #4 Posted October 23, 2022 I am researching the same thing for a 314-H, That TS kit is for the mower deck lift. As DBreeze911 stated you need the rock shaft kit. There is four diff kits available based on your tractor model. You will also need the clevis hitch and the plow/blower attachment that bolts onto the axle. Saw a tiller for $200 bucks locally, but now realizing I am going spend up to $300 to covert the tractor for rear attachments. In the long run it will be worth it for other accessories like a rear blade and ball hitch
c-series don 8,676 #5 Posted October 23, 2022 I’ve ran a straight cable for years, no rock shaft under the seat. It’s always been on a tractor with hydraulic lift though. I’m not sure how it would be with a manual lift, perhaps the lift assist spring would be helpful. I will say that after a few hundred lifts the cable would break do to chafing on the seat support on the top of the transmission. 15 dollars for a new cable and about 10 minutes to change it and I’d be back in business. I ran this setup mostly on a Work Horse GT-1800, now I have it on a C-165 Automatic.
