Blasterdad 2,691 #1 Posted October 6, 2022 Finally found a 60" deck in great shape with brand new blades, used set hardly used & correct drive mule. It has a little surface rust but not bad, it will clean up nice, I can tell it was taken care of. You don't fully appreciate how big they are until you see one in person & have to move the thing by yourself. What a tank, all 350 pounds of it. 2

Ed Kennell 38,048 #6 Posted October 6, 2022 Never could understand why WH put three anti scalp wheels across the front of the 42" decks, but only put the one center wheel on many of the 48 and 60 inch decks. Probably assuming the big decks would only be used on flat lawns so why not save $50. BTW, I have added front corner wheels to my 48" deck.
peter lena 8,589 #7 Posted October 6, 2022 @Blasterdad would make every effort to free that unit up for function , noted for terrific drag on the pto set up , think a lubrication change out / upgrade would be in order , only a suggestion , the heavy spindle drag , can be lessened . would also go after your mule drive set up , to enhance / free that up. pete

The underside has no dirt or grass on it anywhere. I'm going to double check when I take it apart & paint it, & as @Ed Kennell suggested it will be getting new scalp wheels at the front corners.

First gen 60s had only the center wheel. Like from the C-195 era. Then the later versions commonly found on 520-H had adjustable scalp wheels added.
