Sparky-(Admin) 21,315 #1 Posted October 5, 2022 Just kidding! Dropped a whooping $10 on this pumpkin, plopped it on my yard art rig and called it DONE! That’s about all I’ll be doing this year 6 3 11
ebinmaine 67,483 #2 Posted October 5, 2022 We don't celebrate Halloween so we don't decorate for it but I do have a great appreciation for the colors of fall. Most years I'll get a hold of some gourds and lay them out and maybe some straw or dead corn plants as decoration. Quite a lot of work there Mike. One whole pumpkin. You get that done all in one day? I was thinking about buying five small ones for five front steps but I'm not sure I can handle that much exertion.

I assumed it was by the pound but instead the circumference was measured and that is how pricing was determined. Kinda thought $10 was a bit steep… but this was at the farmers market in town and all pumpkin proceeds (or profit?) goes the the local food bank so that made me feel good. 3 8
AMC RULES 37,130 #9 Posted October 6, 2022 They saw your deep pockets coming. Probably that Hawaiian tropics tan of yours tipped them off.
WHX?? 48,815 #10 Posted October 6, 2022 Gotta be like my missus Sparkeye and buy plastic and metal ones. They last for years...unlike my back for hauling them out of the attic....
wh500special 2,179 #11 Posted October 6, 2022 Probably expensive because it was likely imported from Illinois. More pumpkins are grown here than in the next five states combined. I have no idea why I know this, but this is the kind of crap that takes up precious room in my head… steve 1

I know a little bit about a lot of things or some would say I know nothing about everything....
lynnmor 7,305 #13 Posted October 6, 2022 Local supermarket price was $5 for one about that size. You can plant a hundred pumpkins for $5, why buy them?

Similar to one of my mantras: I'm learning less and less about more and more. Eventually I'll know nothing about everything.
