RJ35 Dimensions

I have been thinking about getting a nice little period-correct tractor accompaniment to my 1955 Willys Pickup.  

I really would like a Ford 8N but it is a bit too large to fit next to my house and would likely draw too much attention from my suburban HOA.

 

I do like the Wheel Horse RJ35 as an even smaller option, but was curious about the exact length, width, and height dimensions of it (including tires)?   I googled, but all the Tractor Data sites seem to be missing that information.

Welcome and   it’s pretty small it’s smaller than a jd mower or cub cadet at least when it comes to my rj59 Reese .

The RJ-35 has something in common with the 1955 Willys Pick Up, if you are in a hurry you are in the wrong driver seat!       

We had a '48 on the farm and it was capable of doing anything except going more than 40 MPH. One of the toughest vehicles ever built.

Like racing, “Fast, cheap and reliable.  You pick two.”  I’m sure we can apply three requirements to that of tractor hunting.  Then again, I nabbed mine from an estate sale that had no idea what they had.

Good luck with that! RJ35s aren't cheap even when they're a basket case. Might be better off looking for an RJ58.

Or 1960 models 400, 550, 1961 models 401 0r 551. They're basically all the same size

For those who wanted pics of the Willys.   It is a 1955 4WD pickup with the original L6-226 engine and a T-90 3-speed transmission.  It has the Warn/Saturn overdrive which allows you to get up to a bit faster (relative) speeds.   I bought this in 2007 and just finished it a few months ago.  

Here was what it looked like when I went to go buy it back in early 2007.

That's kind of what I am hoping.  To stumble upon one like that.

A standard Farmall Cub would look nice next to a old truck.  Say, from 1947 to late 50s model.

Looks like yours was well cared for. The one we had lived a hard life but kept on going for a long time.

Pretty much the same vehicle.  Different frame and a different body from the B-pillar back, but most everything else shared.

I am the fourth owner.   The first was Pacific Telephone (which later became Pacific Bell and is AT&T today).    It has spent its whole life in the Southwest, from 1955 to 2007 in California and from 2007 to present in Arizona, so it was relatively solid but well-used body.   There weren't any rusted away floor boards or anything.   With that said, every part down to the nut and bolt was restored or replaced.

If I was to go with a bigger tractor -- it would be an Ford 8N.   My grandpa had one and I am a big fan of them.   The problem is that I currently have a 2.5 car garage, with one stall being consumed by my Willys, the other with my modern-day Jeep, and the half stall is my workshop.  I could potentially fit it next to the garage, but our silly HOA would likely complain and it isn't very easy to conceal to appease them.   Which is what sent me down this whole garden tractor rabbit hole.   I have more storage options with something small like an RJ35 or RJ58.

 

At some point I hope to get more garage space where I could fit an 8N but that will likely be 10 years or more away.
