squonk 41,145 #101 Posted April 9, 2023 So if the base of the bracket physically fits the engine and the stub shaft doesn't line up, cut the stub off rotate it and reweld it to the base so it does line up.
elcamino/wheelhorse 9,315 #102 Posted April 9, 2023 Easy for you to say. I don't weld. I would have to get my brother involved which could be a bigger pain than what i have gone thru so far.

Give it to me at the show and I'll get it welded and send it back to you. It doesn't fit as it is so you can't spoil a rotten egg.
elcamino/wheelhorse 9,315 #104 Posted April 9, 2023 While you have been looking at tractor and railroad train porn, I went back out to do the following: 1. Greasy Pete the bearing in the bell, replaced the clip in the bell. 2. Remeasured the holes in the block. Center of set screw hole to center of bolt hole 3/4" . 3. Lined everything up so PTO works. 4. #7661 does not fit . The angle is wrong. The base is the wrong shape / too long. 5. Going to try to use with one bolt no set screw until I find the right one. hope pictures from Troutburn shows something. Going to sit on my butt and watch TV or take a nap. You would think other members of the riff raff crew would chime in .

elcamino/wheelhorse 9,315 #106 Posted April 9, 2023 @ebinmaine the whole problem is no one has a picture of the mystery bracket. WH pictures don't show the complete base. Another member is going to send me some pictures of his Commando later this week. I have checked with the usual guys, vendors, eBay etc. No luck huck. @Pullstartstarted this mess again when he asked about the bracket. Then @squonk chimed in . The circus started up again. One problem is a Commando 800 is one year only and who knows what part WH threw on it. i had a bracket from my father's Commando but it grew legs around 1995 when the block experienced a grenade problem. Going to search all the parts buckets at the BS.
squonk 41,145 #107 Posted April 9, 2023 If I can get my hands on another #7661 I will make a base to fit my K 181 on HHHOOOWWWAAARRRDDD!!! . It has the same 2 holes. No set screw but the hole is there. Then using the angle of the PTO rod on my Skonkmobile I will endevor to install the stub off of said #7661 to the new base so the angle of the dangle is correct

elcamino/wheelhorse 9,315 #111 Posted April 25, 2023 Hot Dog! Waldo and his mobile took a ride around the yard today! No video no idea how to do that and don't want to learn. Had to put a smaller idler pulley on the Waldomobile so clutch would work correctly, with the 8-speed trans. 3rd gear will pop front wheels off the ground, my big butt probably helped. Uncle Skunky is still thinking about that dang PTO bracket. His rigging of the 7661 bracket has the rod at the wrong angle. Hope to find one at the BS. May put bonnet and footrests on tomorrow.

Uncle Skunky says "Don't let Technology get in the way of a good time at our age" He also says "Bring bracket that don't work to show so I can take it and make a bigger base so I can move stubby piece out and away from pulley" "That correct bracket will be a needle in a haystack" Maybe there will be a complete Waldomobile II there we can look at to see exactly what's needed. Now Uncle Skunky says "start going to bed at 6:00 so you have energy for big show!"
elcamino/wheelhorse 9,315 #113 Posted June 9, 2023 BIG DAY stuck a fork in the Waldomobile project. Only took 53 weeks from the last BS. Still looking for the bracket !!!!. If someone is missing the bracket from a Commando 800 at the BS this year Squonky and Randy will be involved in the theft. Here be pictures and the color is GM Bright Red 81 with 2 coats of clear. Still got little things to finish but he starts , runs nice and has 8 speeds. Pictures attached.
