Wooden ironing board used to holding items to be ground , quick clean with a rag and then primer . Steel ironing board for  painting and drying. Figured Skunky would want to know.

Glad you took the fabric off the ironing board before laying wet paint on it!

 

You can bring the board to Iowa this winter for the Downhill Championships. @stevasaurus and I are gonna build us a 2 seater!

@Pullstart Purple power am purple . I think Skunky drinks what is in his bottle. The bottle on the ironing board has Krud Kutter rust stuff in it.

Today was watching primer dry . I did glue up the break shoe. Sorry no pictures , took rubber gloves off to soon . A lot of fun trying to keep Mr Gorilla off the clamps. Spent a less than enjoyable hour at the blue box store searching for grade 8 bolts , plastic spacers and a metric bolt. Worse part was checking out , only self check out open. Woman who was manning the self check out looked like she was sucking on a dill pickle . Loved filling the survey I got from shopping at blue box store.

I was watching the news. They said they had a story about a man wandering and ranting at a Lowes in Va. They were going to put it on the air in case somebody was looking for him and wanted him back but they had too much Hurricane footage to show!

It is sad that the customers know more about the products sold and where they are located that the employees. I only helped 2 other customers today . Two old ladies were complaining about the green riff raft that were let in store . Something about the thing holding a sign "New York or bust " .

Just realized that I need to take pictures of other Commando 800 I own so I can figure out where some of the parts attach to the seat pan. No painting tomorrow , rain and wind from Ian.

I love doing that in the plumbing department. Find a young couple searching for a pipe fitting and the husband is trying to act like he's an expert. Then the old guy finds it for them!

Well it quit raining and the sun came out. First order of business was to mow the yard. Grass sure enjoyed the rain. Next job was to remove one ironing board from the shed and set the seat pan ,one foot rest and small parts up from a coat of red. Figured I better let the pieces warm first. No problem where did I put paint . where was the handle for the rattle cans ? Found all the stuff then ate lunch. Metal still cold , so did a few things including trip to blue box store for bulbs for security light on house over drive way. Two bulbs $20.00 plus tax new LED unit $39.00 . I bought the new unit.  Came home  metal warm. So I sprayed everything 2 coats.  Tomorrow before or after install new light time to mount 8 speed. If you don't hear from me again I am either trying to hook the trans to the frame or trans fell on me and it is dirt nap time.

The adventure continues. The installation of the new security light  took 4 hours maybe more . Had to make another run to blue box store for a new box for the light. Yesterday afternoon after my legs finally quit aching from up and down the ladder about 50 times. I spray some more parts with red and then clear coated the seat pan and foot rests 4 times. Today started with a run to the drug hoping to buy OTC muscle relaxer , they don't sell over the counter . Back home spread a cloth down to lay on and installed the 8 speed. Took some time by my self. Where is a minion when you need one.  Installed break shoe and hooked up pieces and parts for brake /clutch petal. Removed old idler pulley , o crud more rust on bar that holds pulley, sanded and treated for rust. Primed rear rims and removed the front rims. I think the original grease from the factory was buried on the rims. I know now where Gorilla Glue got their formula.  Took an hour and a half of scraping cussing and wire brushing the rims. Used a 5 in 1 scraper to get some of the grease off.  Coated them with dish detergent and came in side for a nap. Now here I sit explaining what I did today.

Kind of back working on Waldomobile and taking drugs for shingles nerve pain. Need to remove the drive pulley on the engine . The pulley and sleeve for PTO are brown welded  like no tomorrow. Been pouring oil down the set screw hole and have a puller attached . Any body got any suggestions on how to remove ?

I'd think that would work.  

 

Double check to see if there's a set screw hidden. I've been bit by that more than once. 

 

Long as you'll be replacing the seal behind there I don't see why it matters if it gets nice n toasty.

No leaks behind pulley as far as I can tell. Both set screws came out very easy. Could not believe my luck on that. I think if I can get the pto sleeve off the pulley will come off . Should I try heating just the pto sleeve first ?

Absolutely.

Just two things to remember when using heat: think about conduction and where the heat you apply in one place is gonna travel (and what effect that extra heat might have), AND that a hot part looks the same as it did cold DO NOT TOUCH!
