cafoose 3,355 #1 Posted September 28, 2022 I've been slowly relocating to Hancock County Tennessee over the past several months. I sold my house in York, PA right before Christmas last year and stayed in my nephew's townhouse until I could make the move. I just changed my driver's license and registration yesterday. I'm now living in a double wide on a friend's farm in the mountains. He has over two square miles of land and I'm surrounded by trees. Plenty of trails through the mountains to explore and two natural springs on the property. Lot's of opportunity to play with my tractors. I have access to a yellow construction full size Cat track dozer, a Case 580K 4x4 backhoe, a ditch witch, and other farm and construction equipment. I just got a Kawasaki Brute Force 650 four wheeler to run around the farm. 7

Pullstart 62,894 #6 Posted September 28, 2022 Congrats Chuck! A good time ago we were looking at property east of Nashville, TN. The rolling hills and abundant streams sure did call my name! 1

Yes it sure was My quality of life has vastly improved and I paid off all my debt and I can live really cheap. Cost of living is much cheaper and I rarely see anyone other than some really nice neighbors. I even have free food available from the farm We get along really well and help each other out all the time! 1 2

Me and the BBT could stay alive if we weren't in the mountains but it just wouldn't be "living". 1

We have problems with foxes getting at the chickens sometimes. Black bear have even been in the area.

It is within normal possibility that our date of last frost is in the third or fourth week of May and I've seen it happen.

ebinmaine 67,515 #23 Posted September 28, 2022 We've been using a walk behind exclusively for several years now and then the plows to scrape up whatever's left. Just a few weeks ago I did pick up another C-160 with a single stage blower on the front of it. I'll try that this season and see how it goes.
