What is the best way to remove the roll pin on the high / low shifter on a eight speed trans?

Yup 1/8 pin punch. Soak it first. Helps if you can hit it back and forth too. One side will eventually give

Any big box Waldo or good size hardware store. Prolly got a cheap set in the jungle but OK for how often you use.

That's what I did. I figure if it turns out I need to use them a lot and wear out a couple, I'll do that.

I got a set from Tractor supply after I destroyed my Harbor Freight ones. Been happy with the set from TSC.

The one I just drove out of the 1267 came out pretty easily. I used a 5/32” punch. It fit perfectly in the hole.

I found some roll punches in a tool box of my old mans. Three taps with a small hammer and the pin can out must be my lucky day.
