Wild Bill in VA 1,452 #1 Posted September 22, 2022 The first picture shows a couple big guys had to stand on the sled, but it was no use as the Mighty Lawn Ranger Six Speed just kept going! The second picture shows the one and only time my L-157 Lawn Ranger hooked up to a pullin' sled. But ya' notice the HL-5 head lights are on! And of course, I show off with my 654 and Speed Reduction kit .... and ya' notice no wheelie bars! Wild Bill in Richmond VA 4
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,340 #2 Posted September 22, 2022 Very cool pics Bill! Would be kinda cool to have a sled pull at the show.
953 nut 55,697 #3 Posted September 22, 2022 We had to drop the sled pulls at our local show about seven or eight years ago due to the cost of insurance.

Is the assistant’s hand on the hood calculated into final weight? I can’t actually tell if he’s even touching the tractor, but it sure looked like it at first glance! Thanks again Bill for all these cool relics!
oliver2-44 9,831 #6 Posted September 22, 2022 Who's that driving the tractor? Sure looks like a YOUNGER guy!!!!!
Wild Bill in VA 1,452 #7 Posted September 22, 2022 We wanted to try a tractor pull at the show one year so promoted the show on every pullin' sight I could find AND BOY DID WE GET WHEEL HORSE PULLERS!!! There were all kinds of modifieds everything from big engines to hand clutches. and what happens ..... we broke the sled! Now keep in mind we do not own the grounds at the South Mountain Fairgrounds and the track area kinda' got dug up, so it was the first and last time we tried pullin' at the Annual Wheel Horse Show. That looks like a Teccy engine with the big screen cover so he's probably adjusting the carb!

Well figure it this way, I have been promoting the Annual Wheel Horse Show for 25 years now! Yeah, I gets a little older, but I still like to have fun. Handy Don 12,392 #11 Posted September 23, 2022 Unless you cause a modest amount of ruckus every so often, you can easily forget how to have fun. As Bill noted, though, be ready to own up and even apologize (and mean it) when you go too far or someone is rightfully offended.
