Heatingman 971 #1 Posted September 18, 2022 In the middle of reassembly of a B-80. I did not own it long before I started the tear down, and its my first wheelhorse. I just reinstalled the brake pedal and linkage, and the angle it sets at seems too severe back towards the driver. The linkage is not adjustable. Does this look normal to the brain trust here at the square? I looked back at some of my before and during pictures while the pedal was still in place, but the parking brake was engaged in all of them.
ebinmaine 68,889 #2 Posted September 18, 2022 Try putting the step in place and see if the brake pedal bump stop hits either the step or the little tab beside it.
rmaynard 15,735 #3 Posted September 18, 2022 B-80 and B-100 are the same mechanically. This is the correct position for the brake pedal. Begin by properly adjusting the brake.
Heatingman 971 #4 Posted September 18, 2022 What is holding that position on the brake pedal?

That was it. The little flag that the linkage attaches to is also a travel range stop.

Crazy stuff like having to have the footrest in place to position the pedal, and having to have the belt guard installed to make the drive belt stop, are just a few of the idiosyncrasies that make these tractors so lovable.
