Pullstart 63,096 #1 Posted September 17, 2022 These three engines are at a sale locally, foot pedal start. Any ideas?
wallfish 17,080 #2 Posted September 17, 2022 The last one is a Maytag. The others look like Briggs engines to me. I'm no expert. Just look at the kick start engines at the shows because it would be cool to add a kick start on to the tractor bike
953 nut 55,795 #3 Posted September 17, 2022 The two upright engines are probably Cushman scooter engines. I had one of these as a kid. 1

Pullstart 63,096 #5 Posted September 17, 2022 Well, they were a plenty and expensive. Up to $450 for some of ‘em! Not worth it to me, but they were fun to investigate!

Uses the same magneto as the Maytag 82. The Model 82 Maytag did have a side mounted spark plug as does this engine, but utilized an different fuel mixer and lacked a kick starter, as the kick starter for the 82 was mounted on the washing machine itself. The model 92 Maytag had a kick starter mounted to the engine, but the spark plug was on top of the jug rather than on the side. Here is my early production side exhaust Model 92 for reference And here is the earlier Model 82 Maytag, note the spark plug on the flywheel side of the engine, different mixer, and lack of kick starter
