Hello everyone! I am going to replace the ignition trigger on my grandfather's 520. Any tips, tricks or important things I should know before starting? I already have the parts. I just need to tear into it. I didn't know Cummins owned Onan.

Hi guys have a friend with a 520H (1988) with a dead engine, he claims a few months back he went to crank it and it made a funny sound then no workee anymore..... I took a look at It quickly this afternoon definitely something broken internally, cranks but free-wheels with no compression nothing coming out the exhaust.... I was very surprised that one cylinder wouldn't push some exhaust or compression out.... is I possible BOTH connecting rods are broke or maybe the Crank???? Have you seen this before? it is worth fixing....? I have rebuilt single cylinder engines prior and one B&S dual lung..... what scares me is the availability and cost of ONAN parts???? Engine according to him ran fine prior, he said no BIG BANG just a funny noise...... I looked at the meter has just under 700 hrs on it. Thanks for any information or experience you can provide.
