We're going to take apart the Tecumseh from my Honey's 657 so I can replace the crankshaft. Any little tricks or tips I need to know about?

Here's a crazy question I had to ask anyway. I have an old HH 60 that has no spark. Obviously something with the magneto. There is no way to recharge these correct? I have cleaned all connections and still no spark any helpful suggestions lmk Thanx

I'm accustomed to using Non detergent oil in all older small engines. Thanks to @pfrederi I have the manual for the Tecumseh and it says to use detergent oil BUT it is printed in 1998... Over 30 years after DOM on my engine. What do you folks use??

Got the Chinese carb installed on my HH60 and had it running decent. Tried to get it to idle by adjusting the idle screw..Well now it's a bear to start and smokes like a frieght train in the event it actually fires... Fuel shut off is suddenly stuck open as well. Had some sediment in the fuel filter, which doesn't surprise me. Why won't it start now??

Pulled the cord on my HH60 tonight and it made a hellacious noise resulting in the cord pulling alllll the way out.... And staying out. Got an electric starter sitting on my junk H60... Will it work!!?? Or should I rebuild the pull start?

Needing a new muffler for my HH60 before Molon_Labe comes up to help me! Anyone know the thread size of the exhaust port? I wanna guess and say it's 1"?

Got tired of trying to find a motor for my mystery horse so I just bought a complete running tractor! Scored a 606 for $225 tank is rusty and carb needs cleaned but that looks to be all!!

I have a new 657 with a 6hp Tecumseh that had a new short block installed several years ago. The tractor had sat for the past 5 years. I installed a new carb and changed the oil twice. The engine runs great and doesn't smoke. I am getting some oil coming from the breather tube. It doesn't do it all the time but when it does it comes out pretty good. I installed a new breather filter and the oil level is good. What could be causing it. Thanks guys...
