Hello, my c160 seems to have problems throttling up when cold. It will start okay but when I throttle it, it will stall if I don't turn the throttle back down. After its warmed up it will throttle up okay. It will also backfire if I throttle down too quickly from full throttle.
I cleaned the carburetor and adjusted the valve to tappet clearance. The exhaust side was set okay but the intake side was much wider than it was supposed to be. The adjustments didn't seem to change anything. I also cleaned the cylinder head and put in a new gasket. The bore looks really good, no scoring.
I noticed there are air bubbles in the fuel line after the fuel pump (line pictured). Also, after I shut it off air will enter the line right before the fuel pump. Is the fuel pump something I can clean and rebuild? I didn't want to mess with it because I don't have parts if I tear a gasket.
Are these problems that need to be fixed before using the tractor? I just got it last fall and have not yet used it other than testing it out a little. The grass is starting to grow now so I'd like to get it going good. It seems to run and function fine when warmed up.
