  1. how would you get the pin out of the transmission where your hitch is its all set up any ideas how to get it out? i was gunna heat it but i dont think that would be good for the transmission.
  2. My hitch pin is stuck in my b-80. I was wondering if i were to use my torches where would be the best place to heat it. I was reading someone said not to heat the pin. But if you heated the case wouldnt it end up hurting the transmission split gasket?
  3. My rear hitch that adjusts up and down is stuck. I have given it the old penetrant, but I still have to literally use a prybar to move it. The only way I could use my plow was to unhook the cable to the rear hitch. There are no grease zerks anywhere on it. I pulled the keepers and tried a punch, the pin will not budge, either direction. Any suggestions?
  4. I'm going out of my mind trying to get this thing out. I took the trans out of my Commando 8, so that I could get to the pin for the hitch. Today I cut one side of the pin short then started to drill it out, and on my 3rd bit size up, it gets snagged, throws the trans over and snaps the bit inside the hole! I have tried everything, Heat & Hammer, large pipe wrench & pipe for leverage, drilling, pneumatic hammer, what am I doing wrong? I am about to just smash this thing with a hammer and throw it in the pond. Any help would be appreciated.

    Why would anyone do this?

Why would anyone do something like this? Here's the other side of the hitch mounting pin. These photos are of the atrocity on the back of a 753 that I recently brought out of mothballs, did some repairs to it, and now it is running like new again....except that I can't pull anything with it due to the unbelievable act perpetrated on it by a P/O. Before I attempt anything at all in an effort to remove the rusted-in-place portion of the hitch mounting pin, what would be the best plan of attack? I surely don't want to break the transaxle housing by applying too much force or trying something more brutal to get the remains of the pin out of there. Suggestions anyone? Vvm

    Hitch pin removal

First of all this is my first post, and so fat this is this most informitave site I have found for W.H. criteria. You all are awesome. Back to my question, dilema. I have a 312-8, I used my cultivator the other night then went to put on the tiller so I can get the garden planted. I went to take off the off the sleave hitch and the pin is seized in their pretty tight. I have soaked it, heated it, banged on it and nothing hapens. Is this pin something that can be replaced if I had to cut it? This will be my last option but before it comes it I need to know if there is way to replace it. Thanks to everybody who helps me out.
