Does anyone have a part number or know where I can get a voltage regulator for a '68 Electro 12? I'm picking the tractor up this weekend for $250 with a working mower deck, but someone has really messed with the wiring and there's no spark.? The ignition is a Battery points setup, currently set up to positive ground. I'm guessing that the VR is only PART of the problem, but I want to get it back to a normal setup. Also looking to buy a new ignition switch. Thanks.

Anyone ever heard of an Electro 12 with a positive ground electrical system? Have a chance to pick up a pretty decent tractor, but the electrical system seems like a mess. The guy has it hooked up with positive ground and it won't fire when cranking. He swears it ran like a dream a week ago, but he washed it and it hasn't run since. Also, it has 2 key switches! One for the coil, and one for the starter. Has anyone ever heard of such a system? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

First Wheel Horse...a 1277. Picked it up for $400 with the plow. The guy couldn't get it to keep running after squirting starting fluid in the carb. Took her home, cleaned the carb, took the flywheel off and cleaned the magneto, put in a new set of points and she runs like a dream. Now I have a dilemma though. I can pick up an Electro 12 for $350, but the engine isn't running and the electrical system has been completely messed up. The tractor itself is in good shape and comes with a deck. Seem like a good price? Any thoughts? I can only keep one, so if I get the electro, I'll build one good tractor out of two. Here's some pics of the 1277.
